Easy peasy nut butter brownie

Pop along to the Matakana Village Farmers Market any Saturday and meet Josie Manning at the Matakana Nut Butters stall. This family business has been at the markets since 2008 so has a large local following, filling the pantries of locals and travellers alike! Whether you're a peanut butter purist or love the taste and health benefits of the premium range, there is a flavour for everyone!

Can't make the markets? No problem. Order through their online store www.matakananutbutters.co.nz and slip in the discount code 'junction' for free shipping in November.

Easy peasy nut butter brownie

Gluten, dairy and sugar free this easy three ingredient brownie is super indulgent and ticks all the yum boxes.

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup Matakana Nut Butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa or cacao powder

  • Preheat the oven to 175c.
  • Grease a small cake tin or 8 muffin moulds.
  • In a large bowl add the mashed banana, Matakana Nut Butter and the cocoa/cacao powder, blend well leaving some banana lumps (you'll thank me later), pour the mixture into the prepared tins and bake for 15 minutes or until cooked though. Remove from oven and allow to cool before removing from tin.

Our favourite is serving with coconut yoghurt and strawberries (Charlie's of course).
