Oyster and Wine Festival Matakana

Aw shucks! After all the love and support from last years sold out event, Junction Magazine is bringing the Oyster & Wine Festival Matakana back for a second year. But this time it’s bigger (double the tickets in fact) and better!

Locked in for Sunday 7 October 2018, 10-4pm at the Matakana Country Park, it’ll be a day filled with oysters, wine, entertainment, competitions and a whole lot of family fun.

Junction Magazine is teaming up with local oyster farmers from the Mahurangi Harbour and wineries, to bring you all the deliciousness and more! There will be plenty of freshly shucked oysters served au naturel, paired with local wines for a mouth-watering experience. If you’re not a fan of these salty beauties, there will be many other seafood offerings and scrumptious cuisine available to satisfy all taste buds.

The all-weather event will entertain with live music, cooking and wine demonstrations, face painting, arts and crafts for the kids and of course, shucking competitions - let the oyster battle begin!

Oysters and wine often hold a notion of sophistication, however leave the heels at home and make sure you glam up your gumboots for this one. There’s a special prize for the best pair of gummies on show.

Don’t be antisocial and make sure you follow our Instagram and Facebook for your weekly dose of oysters and wine and keep an eye out for a few cheeky competitions too.

Adult tickets cost $39.50 including an event glass, first glass of wine or beer and 2 half shell oysters.

Children (7–17 yrs old) tickets cost $17, including a non-alcoholic drink Children (0-6 yrs old ) Free
