Soulful Food At The Leigh Sawmill Café

Under the direction of Executive Chef Pip Wylie the Leigh Sawmill Café’s new menu has been designed to use the best local ingredients that change with the seasons, bringing the coast and land to the plate.

Pip has taken the helm in the Mill kitchen – having worked all over the world (including at iconic restaurants like The River Café, First Floor and French House Dining Rooms in London) and her own place, Tabac, in Notting-Hill Gate. Upon returning to Aotearoa and a “life” Pip started her own bespoke catering company. She brings a wealth of experience, creativity and a life-long passion for food with her - lucky us!

With neighbours like Leigh Fisheries the Leigh Sawmill Café will continue to have a strong focus on seafood and a wider variety appearing on the specials boards.

Pip’s fresh menu easily spans lunch and dinner, with plates to share or delicious main offerings, finishing with a mouth-watering selection of desserts. 

There will be an update to the pizza menu, and gearing up towards the summer months they will be adding more easy-to-eat gig fare too.

Out of the kitchen, the Mill itself will be undergoing a gradual pre-summer makeover - extending the garden dining area, enabling them to remain open, serving food beverages on those long lazy afternoons. This also means not having to close during a gig set-up.

They take bookings for groups of 10+ during the day and any number at night. The café is open Thursday and Friday 12pm-late, and Saturday and Sunday 10am-late, from now until late December. Late December until March they will open seven days a week.
