31 December

New Years Eve Party

Beach themed NYE party with Warkworth band 'The Damage'. Bring the board shorts and bikinis and see in 2016 with the fun-loving staff at the Matakana. There will be a shuttle bus servicing the local area, so leave the car safely at home.

Shakespeare in the Vines - Romeo and Juliet

Bobby Alu and the Palm Royale

The Australian/Samoan musical genius is finally coming to NZ and playing at the iconic Leigh Sawmill Cafe. A former multi-award winning drummer for Aussie musical heavyweight Xavier Rudd, Bobby has had his sights sets on NZ ever since he supported Katchafire on their 2012 Australian tour. This group is seriously taking off, so make sure you catch them while you can

 

9 & 10 January

A Gypsy Extravaganza

Junction staff are excited to see how the Kiwi travelling folk get down. This will be a sustainable event (bring your refillable water bottles), which will provide a day of music, market stalls, herbal remedies, crystals, tarot readings, hoola hoop workshops and all the fun of the fair (see page 25 for more info).

 

23 January

Head on down and experience some good old-fashioned country hospitality. The Warkworth A&P Show's schedule covers horses, cattle, goats, sheep dogs, woodchopping, calf club, cooking, horticulture, art and craft, painting, garden produce, needlework and a children’s section.

Fat Freddy's Drop

Not only is this band a NZ household name, they are also international superstars in the world of EDM (Electronic Dance Music), funk and reggae. The Freddys are fresh off the release of their newest album 'Bays' and will soon be departing these shores on a massive Australian promo tour. Bring the cushions and the sunscreen – and book an appointment with your plastic surgeon, because this will definitely be a face-melting dancefloor-filler of a gig. Junction is all about local events, even the ones that require a boat or ferry to get to. Music in the Gardens is all about cruising through the afternoon in the gorgeous grounds of Mansion House with great food and wine, getting on down to the lush sounds of Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes.
