GEODOME STAYS AT MARTINS BAY
A new glamping experience has arrived at Martins Bay Holiday Park, expanding its much-loved range of coastal accommodation options.
Set on the Mahurangi Peninsula, Martins Bay Holiday Park is one of three Auckland Council Holiday Parks and has long been known as the quintessential Kiwi campground – a family-friendly destination offering safe all-tide swimming, a pontoon, playgrounds, pedal cart and kayak hire, a recreation and dining room with Sky TV, and covered BBQ areas. Boat parking, washdown facilities, and a fish-cleaning station, alongside the neighbouring all-tide boat ramp, make it a boater’s haven. Its location also provides a convenient base for exploring nearby coastal walks and regional attractions.
Now, the park is introducing two six-metre geodomes, designed to provide a stylish and comfortable glamping option to add to their range of caravans, cabins, cottages and safari tent accommodations. Each dome offers 28 square metres of living space, constructed from a strong frame with inner and outer layers for year-round comfort. A large clear window has been positioned to frame the best of the views, while each dome sits on a raised deck, creating an inviting space for outdoor relaxation.
Inside, the domes are thoughtfully furnished with a queen bed, cabinetry, seating and dining areas both indoors and out, tea and coffee facilities, floor rugs, and mood lighting for a warm and atmospheric stay. Full linen is provided, and an extra foldaway bed can be added if required, ensuring a truly special glamping experience.
With two unique locations, the first of the new additions, Starlight Dome, sits on the park’s plateau in a private setting with panoramic views across bush, farmland, and out to the Gulf Islands. It is a short stroll from the shared plateau kitchen, bathroom amenities, and BBQ area, while remaining within easy walking distance of the beach and main facilities. The second, Castaway Dome, sits just steps from the sand with waterfront views. A short walk from the main facilities it offers its own deck, outdoor seating, and the soothing soundtrack of the waves.
Together, these new geodomes provide a fresh way to experience Martins Bay Holiday Park – combining the ease of traditional camping with the comfort of a well-designed coastal retreat.
