FROM SEED TO TABLE

In a small greenhouse in Snells Beach, a young mum and her toddler are growing more than seedlings – they're nurturing a way of life rooted in slowing down, getting outdoors, and putting good food back on the table.

A small, family-run nursery, The Seedling House is dedicated to helping locals grow fresh food and beautiful gardens, specialising in heirloom vegetable and herb seedlings ready to thrive in home gardens across the region. Danielle Keats is grateful to be building on the strong foundation laid by local gardener Justine Orme.

Having taken over the nursery earlier this year, Danielle is excited to keep growing the business, bringing her own passion and care to every tray. As a young mum raising her daughter, Shiloh, Danielle balances family life with nurturing countless seedlings – whether Shiloh is riding in the backpack while Danielle works in the greenhouse, or exploring the garden by her side. The Seedling House has become a true family venture, and motherhood has only deepened Danielle's appreciation for slowing down, spending time outdoors, and encouraging others to grow their own food.

Danielle's commitment to growing healthy, spray-free heritage seedlings is what makes The Seedling House unique. Focused on preserving open-pollinated varieties, the business gives gardeners access to exceptional flavour, diversity, and the opportunity to save seeds for future seasons – all backed by friendly, personal service. Every seedling is carefully raised to give customers the best possible start.

The Seedling House proudly stocks a selection of seedlings at The General Merchant in Snells Beach, with customers also able to purchase directly via Facebook, Instagram or email.

Whether it's growing a family's first vegetable patch, adding herbs to the kitchen garden, or filling a backyard with seasonal produce, The Seedling House hopes to inspire more people to experience the simple satisfaction and joy of growing their own food.
