LEIGH SAWMILL CAFE

As the Leigh Sawmill Cafe awaits its next chapter, the team behind it are determined that the music and the sense of community keep right on going.

The Leigh Sawmill Cafe has always been more than just a place to grab a bite or a beer. For years it's been woven into the fabric of the Leigh community, bringing people together through live music, good food and plenty of unforgettable nights. Just down the road from Goat Island, Matheson's Bay, Pākiri and Tāwharanui, it's long been the spot people stop into after a day at the beach or out on the water.

With the property now on the market, the team are keeping things ticking over rather than winding down. For now, Leigh Sawmill is open for takeaway pizzas, with the bar running a few evenings a week – perfect for grabbing a drink while the pizza cooks, or catching up with mates by the fire.

Bookings are still being taken for gigs, private functions and events, and accommodation remains open seven days a week. The Sawmill has always been about bringing people together, and that's something the team hope continues, whatever the next chapter looks like.

Some Leigh Sawmill merch is in the works, with more news to come soon.

Whenever the sale does go through, the team are looking forward to seeing what's next for 142 Pakiri Road. It's a special spot with a lot of history behind it, and the hope is that it remains a place locals and visitors alike can enjoy for many years to come.

For now, the story isn't over – the gigs, the vibes, and the welcome that's made the mill a local icon for generations are still very much alive.
