For Glen Stichbury, a career spent caring for others laid the foundation for something unexpected – a skincare range built on the same principles she brought to nursing.
Glen has spent years as a registered nurse, developing a practical, deeply human understanding of how skin reflects overall health. It is the kind of knowledge that comes not from a laboratory, but from years of paying close attention to people – noticing what stress, age, and environment do to the body, and what genuine care can do in return.
That experience became the quiet foundation for The Serum, a collection created with the belief that effective skincare should support the skin intelligently, feel uncomplicated to use, and deliver visible results over time.
Rather than following trends, Glen approached formulation with the same rigour and attentiveness she brings to her professional life. The idea began quietly and personally – with three formulations she started using herself: Hyaluronic Acid 25%, Vitamin C 15%, and Vitamin A 0.25% with Ascorbic Acid. Over time, she noticed real changes. Texture appeared smoother, hydration improved, and her skin developed a naturally fresh, dewy quality that others began to comment on. Those early results sparked a deeper curiosity about what clinically inspired, high-performance formulations could genuinely achieve.
Before launching, the serums were trialled by 30 individuals across different age groups, skin types, and genders. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with testers reporting improvements in texture, radiance, and overall skin vitality.
Each formulation is developed in a specialised Auckland laboratory, with active ingredient percentages clearly stated – a point of transparency that sets the range apart from many conventional skincare products, where concentrations are rarely disclosed. The Hyaluronic Acid formulation contains a 25% active concentration, considerably higher than most products on the market.
Glen continues her nursing work alongside The Serum, still actively involved in aged care in the Mahurangi region where connection and care are part of everyday life. It is that same spirit that carries through to the brand: thoughtful formulations created with warmth, purpose, and a genuine understanding of people and well-being.
