KEEPING IT CLEAN – PURE AND SIMPLE

Reflections Wastewater Treatment Solutions creates quiet, clean systems that return water to the land – helping rural and coastal homeowners live lightly.

Living off-grid or outside town supply comes with a dream: land, space and a closer connection to nature. But it also means managing life’s essentials differently – including how to handle wastewater quietly and responsibly.

Reflections Wastewater Treatment Solutions (RWTS), owned by Nigel and Cherie Paull, provides fully in-ground systems that treat household wastewater into clean, odourless water for irrigating gardens and lawns.

“From my point of view, designing and installing a wastewater system is as much about the aesthetics of the project as it is the regulations,” says Nigel. “Understanding how a client is going to use their home and their outdoor living space is important, and we make sure systems are located away from social areas and in the best location for the site.”

Nigel and the RWTS team take a personal approach to every job. They begin with a free site visit to understand the land and how their client wants to use it. They handle the full design and install in-house. And they’re there for the long term too, maintaining systems over time.

“I’m always pleased to hear from clients that we’ve made the process easy for them,” Nigel says. “A lot of our clients have a lot going on during a build, and we like to make, at least our part of the job, seamless.”

Reflections systems are manufactured in Aotearoa and use a textile filter instead of a blower or pump. That means no noise, minimal energy use, and systems that are simple and reliable to run.

“We’re a New Zealand designer and manufacturer, so we’re able to change our product to meet individual client needs,” Nigel explains. “We recently had a client who needs to do a lot of washing. So we modified our system to handle the additional water flow. And we’ve designed a range of concrete water tanks, which we make in our yard in Warkworth, and we’ll launch the range this July.”

With projects stretching from Cape Reinga to Hastings, including sites for the Department of Conservation on Rangitoto and at Goat Island, RWTS is trusted in some of the country’s most sensitive and beautiful places.

“I get to meet some amazing people, in amazing locations, and see some great builds – and we’re proud to be a small part of it,” says Nigel.
