PURPOSE-LED, PERFORMANCE-DRIVEN
The Projectus team isn’t just based in Mangawhai – they’re here because they care about how this place grows.
Founder Luka Obradovic first arrived in Kaipara in the early 2000s, initially to help deliver the Marsden Point Marina. That project brought him north, but the region made him stay. After two decades delivering major developments across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific – from housing and infrastructure to civic and commercial spaces – Luka returned and brought Projectus north with him, establishing a local base focused on better outcomes for Kaipara and wider Northland communities.
Projectus works across the full life of a project, from early feasibility through to delivery, providing technical insight, project leadership, and cost control at every stage.
The team takes a hands-on approach, helping shape strategy, coordinate teams, and maintain momentum. With national- scale experience and local knowledge, they bring practical clarity to cost, scope and timing, keeping projects on track and well aligned with their intent.
To date, Projectus has delivered close to $500 million in property projects, across housing, education, civic and commercial developments. Much of that experience now informs the work they’re doing here in Kaipara.
That includes over 400 homes delivered in partnership with developers, iwi, councils and community providers, helping create warmer, healthier places to live. The team has led kura and school capital projects, upgrading learning spaces to better serve their communities. As one chairperson shared, “Luka ensured our voice was heard and respected throughout – always going the extra mile.” They’ve also delivered commercial and light industrial projects that support local businesses and create long- term employment opportunities.
Projectus is currently working with Kaipara and regional councils, developers and landowners to deliver projects that are grounded in community value, creating safer, more resilient, and economically vibrant places to live and work. As one public sector client reflected, “Without Projectus, there is zero chance we would have delivered these projects. Their tenacity and professionalism is immense.”
Their work extends beyond project delivery. Projectus sponsors local schools and sports clubs and works closely with educators to help students across Mangawhai and Kaipara explore real career pathways in construction – not just labouring or trade roles, but also leadership and business pathways.
As Luka puts it, “We’re not some out-of-town corporate. We live here. We work here. We’re part of the community. And we’re putting everything back into the region – knowledge, energy and experience.”
